Day Ten: Puppy Love

This is what a pug hug looks like.

Puppy Love

The kitty cat lay on the shag rug,
all cozy and warm like a bug snug,
then the dog was let in
and took her for a spin
and cuddled her up in a pug hug!

Limericks: sooo hard to write after writing a sonnet! I couldn’t get the iamb out of my head!

  1. nice that you challenge yourself with poetry forms. i keep thinking about it, but the lazy poet in me wins. dare i say your piece is just darn cute?!

    1. Aww, thanks! I like the forms because it’s easier to quote unquote sound poetic when I don’t necessarily feel poetic inspiration. I hide behind rhyme and meter! But it means I get to write about silly things like pug hugs. So I’m okay with it.

  2. Hahaha I like it! It’s cute!
And I know what you mean, I made myself write the limerick I wrote the other day to give myself a break, but I found I struggled with it, especially the third and fourth lines – I had to keep rewording it and taking words out! 😛

    1. Yep. I don’t have much experience with different rhythmic feet. But if anything, this challenge will make me relearn all of that fun stuff, haha.

    2. Also it’s unbelievable how hard short lines are!

      1. Hahaha I agree! But as long as you make it appear like it was easy, that’s the main thing, 😛

  3. Fun to read. Thanks.
