Remember When We Said
Smoke-laced lips on mine again tonight;
the taste’s stuck with me all these years
and will for many more yet, I suspect.
Will this be the time?
Are we old enough now
wise enough now
Do we love enough now?
I gravitate to you,
and why that is I’ve yet to figure out.
I guess I’m just a sentimental fuck who wants you near her.
Who knows what you’re thinking.
I know you but I’m never really sure
what I mean to you.
All I have are pretty words that never come in person
and these smoky kisses in the parking lot.
This is more in keeping with the kind of poetry I normally write.
Day three, down!
